Yay! New Wheels

Last night Jay came home with a long-awaited new car!  Well, a used car, but new for us.  They cleaned it very well so it still has that Eau De VOCs/new car smell, which is really the best thing about a brand new car. And here we got it 40,000 miles later.

Jay has spent countless hours researching what to buy so not only can he now enjoy the fruits of his labor, but he will have lots of additional free time to complete the many projects we've intended to do but never really finished. On to pressure washing!

Anyway, we are now the owners of a dark metallic gray Toyota Camry Hybrid with XM-ready stereo, handsfree bluetooth, dual climate control and maybe some other things Jay is really excited about, but I can't remember.  Jay actually went down to see a different Camry Hybrid that was posted to the dealership website, but it ended up having a cigarette hole on the back seat and some other issues.  The car we purchased had only been on the lot two hours, so it was by pure luck that Jay came across it.  And its just what he wanted!

While Jay was buying the car, he got a glimpse of the notes the salesman wrote about him following each communication they've had in the past week or so.  Despite being a really friendly guy, the comments ranged from surprise and horror that Jay didn't provide a contact phone number with his initial inquiries (does anyone provide this?) to suspicion that Jay was a "time waster."

I guess the bad economy has everyone a little negative these days.  All the more reason to rationalize our new purchase...we are just doing our part to keep the economy going.  You can thank us later.
